Indian Head Massage
As a qualified Indian Head Massage Therapist, I incorporate my knowledge of essential oils during my treatments
History:
As the name suggests, Indian Head Massage comes from India and is based on Ayurvedic medicine. It is a traditional healing practice that has been used for thousands of years. Champissage or head massage more commonly known in the West, has developed over time, traditionally using various oils that change with the seasons to treat the skin, scalp and face.
Treatments:
I usually perform treatments without clothes covering the upper body and with oils, but you can have an Indian Head Massage while dressed and without oils. This flexibility lets you enjoy the treatment at work or in social settings. I find that using essential oils during the massage makes it even more relaxing and enjoyable for clients, allowing the oil's aromas surround you while you relax into a peaceful state.
My sessions are approximately 60 mins, with the massage lasting 40 minutes and the additional time to discuss your health and expectations of the treatment, with time at the end to relax and go through the aftercare advice.
What to Expect:
I perform massage with the client sitting on a low back chair using a variety of massage techniques over the upper back, shoulders, neck, arms, face and head.
